Youth Go Green (YGG)
Background
Youth Go Green is a youth-led umbrella organization established in 2014 to promote climate action, environmental sustainability, green growth, resilience, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.
The organization works to empower children and youth as leaders, innovators, and drivers of transformative and innovative climate solutions while strengthening partnerships between communities, governments, development partners, and the private sector.
Over the years, Youth Go Green has evolved into a recognized national and regional platform advancing ecosystem restoration, climate education, green jobs, policy advocacy, renewable energy, climate resilience, and environmental governance.
The organization collaborates with government ministries, local governments, UN agencies, academic institutions, civil society organizations, corporate entities, and international development partners to implement impactful climate and sustainability initiatives.
Thematic Areas
1. Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation
We support communities and institutions to build resilience against climate change impacts while promoting low-carbon development pathways through education, awareness, and practical interventions.
2. Biodiversity Conservation & Ecosystem Restoration
Youth Go Green promotes restoration of degraded ecosystems, afforestation, reforestation, wetland protection, and biodiversity conservation through community-driven initiatives.
3. Green Economy & Green Jobs
We empower young people with green skills, entrepreneurship opportunities, and innovation support to participate in sustainable and inclusive green economies.
4. Renewable Energy & Just Transition
We advocate for clean energy access and support youth participation in renewable energy innovations and sustainable energy transition pathways.
5. Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems
We promote climate-smart agriculture, sustainable food systems, agroecology, and community resilience through farmer and youth engagement.
6. Youth Leadership & Empowerment
We strengthen youth participation in climate governance, policy processes, innovation, leadership, and sustainable development initiatives.
7. Climate Policy & Advocacy
Youth Go Green contributes to climate policy dialogue, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), environmental governance, and youth representation in national and international climate platforms.
8. Circular Economy & Waste Management
We advance waste reduction, recycling, circular economy practices, and environmental awareness campaigns within communities and institutions.
9. Innovation & Technology
We support green innovation, climate technologies, digital tools, and youth-led solutions that address environmental and socio-economic challenges.
10. Water, Environment & Resilience
We implement programs promoting sustainable water resource management, environmental conservation, and climate resilience.
